KINDS OF STATIONS:

KINDS OF STATIONS:

(1) Block Station

(2) Non-Block Station

(1) Block Station

Block stations are those places where the ‘LP’ must obtain an ‘authority to proceed’, under the system of working, to enter in to the block section with his train.

(2) Non-Block Station

These are also known as ‘D’-class stations and are situated in between two block stations in the block section. No point or signal is provided here. A ‘PH’ (Passenger Halt) or ‘FS’ (Flag Station) board is provided from the center of the station, in each direction, at a distance of 400 mts. Passenger trains stop here according to the working time-table and start as per the Guard’s signal.

In absolute block system, block stations are classified into three classes:

(1)‘A’-Class station

(2) ‘B’-Class station

(3)‘C’-Class station

(1)‘A’-Class station

Such stations are provided in two-aspect signaling territory only. Minimum signaling equipment(s) provided at ‘A’-class stations are:

1) Warner signal below fixed green light        2) Home signal           3) Starter signal

(2) ‘B’-Class station

‘B’-class stations are provided in all the signaling systems except automatic signaling system. * Minimum signaling equipment’s provided in ‘TALQ’ signaling territory on a S/L-section in ‘B’-class station are:

(1) Outer and  (2) Home in both directions.

* Minimum signaling equipment’s provided in ‘TALQ’ signaling territory on a D/L-section in
‘B’-class station are:-

(1) Outer                (2) Home            (3) Starter

If the sectional speed is above 50 km/hr, then Warner signal shall also be provided below the  ‘outer’ signal.

* Minimum-signaling equipment’s in ‘MLQ’ signaling territory on S/L- or D/L-section in a ‘B’- class station are:

1) Distant 2) Home 3) Warner below Main Home 4) Starter

* Minimum-signaling equipment’s in ‘MOMA’ signaling territory on aS/L- or D/L-section in a ‘B’-class station are:

 1) Distant 2) Home 3) Starter

(3)‘C’-Class station

‘C’-class stations are provided in all signaling systems except automatic signaling.

* Minimum signaling equipments provided at a ‘C’-class station in ‘TALQ’ signaling territory are:-

1. Warner below fixed green & 2) Home

* Minimum signaling equipments provided at a ‘C’-class station in ‘MLQ’ and ‘MOMA’ signaling territories are:-

  (1)Distant & (2) Home

SPECIAL CLASS STATIONS:

A station which can’t be worked under ‘A’, ‘B’, ‘C’ or ‘D’ class station is termed as special class station.
